Bruce Alan Mason, 67, of Maryville, Illinois, passed away on December 12, 2025. Born on December 8, 1958. Bruce lived a life defined by service, craftsmanship, creativity, and his loved ones.
A proud Navy veteran, Bruce earned his Nuclear Welding Certification from the American Welding Society (AWS) through NAVAIR. He went on to own and operate The Welding Ltd. in Maryville, IL for nearly three decades, where his skill, artistry, and dedication left a lasting mark on the community. A gifted blacksmith, Bruce poured his imagination into sculpture and creating pieces that reflected both his creativity and passion.
Bruce had a gentle spirit and a genuine love for animals, always finding companionship and comfort in the pets who shared his life over the years. His kindness toward them was another reflection of the warmth he carried into all his relationships.
He found joy in simple pleasures, especially watching and sharing movies and shows with his family and close friends. His warmth and humor made those moments treasured memories.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Arther and Evelyn (Reagin) Mason. He is survived by his daughter Kelsey and her husband Thomas; grandchildren Konner, Payton, Carter, Reagin, and Bennet; his sister Stephanie and her husband Michael; and nieces and nephew Erica, Ryan, Emily, Aubrey, and Hailey.
Bruce’s legacy lives on in the family he loved, the art he created, the animals he cared for, and the countless lives he touched.
There is no service or funeral planned at this time.
Bruce's wishes were to be cremated with a private gathering of immediate family only.
